Teen Writing Contest

If you love to read, but even more, you love to write, On The Same Page has a chance for you to express yourself and win a special lunch with author Cameron Kent and other prizes. Give it a try!

Who can enter? Any local student in grades 6-12.

1. Read The Road to Devotion and reflect on the theme of friendship. From there write a 300-500 word short story or non-fiction essay on the subject of friendship.

2. Save your writing as a MS Word doc, pdf, or rtf document and email it to webbmm@forsythlibrary.org by midnight onSeptember 30th. The email subject line should be “Writing Contest” and the email text should contain your name, your age, your school, and the best method to contact you by.

3. Our panel of judges will convene and select three winners from each age group ( grades 6-8 and grades 9-12) and writing type (fiction and non-fiction) for a total of twelve winners. Each winner will receive a signed copy of the novel and a free lunch with the author on October 22nd.

4. Winners will be notified on October 14th.
